"Whatsoever things are lovely"
Our Purpose:
The purpose of the sorority is to promote the ethical, cultural, and social development of its members.
Alpha Sigma Tau Member Creed:
As a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, I believe in the permanence and loveliness of its ideals. I believe in the values of friendship and fidelity to purpose. I believe in the fulfillment of self, and will strive to contribute my share to the progress of mankind. I believe in cultivating beauty of spirit and graciousness of living in all my contacts with others. I believe that faithfulness to these ideals will help me to live joyously and valiantly.
National Philanthropy: Our National philanthropy is Pine Mountain Settlement School, a school located in Kentucky that provides poverty - stricken children with an education. With the money we raise through philanthropy events, our chapter can contribute things such as supplies and equipment that allow expansion and easier access to the school.
National Service Project: Our national service project is Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps build and rebuild homes for families in need. By raising money for our service project, we are able to donate necessary tools and materials to help rebuild these homes. Along with donations, some sisters actively participate in the actual building of homes. Our service project allows us to fulfill our duty to "strive to contribute our share to the progress of mankind", as mentioned in our creed
